TAS: Policeman warned to tell truth

HOBART, June 19 AAP - One of the key witness at an inquiry into the fatal police shooting
of a Vietnam veteran must have been lying about their evidence, the inquiry was told today.
Joe Gilewicz, 43, was shot by a police marksman at his home south of Hobart on July 16, 1991.
The current commission of inquiry was set up after new evidence suggested police fabricated
testimony given to a coroner who found in 1992 that the killing was self-defence.
Journalist Paul Tapp, whose book manuscript about the shooting prompted the inquiry,
