A three-member team of senior police officers from Dhaka and Khulna interrogated
Mahmud Hasan Shimul, leader of outlawed Purba Banglar Communist Party (PBCP),
yesterday and today at Sonadanga police station in the city to gather information
about the PBCP network.
The team has been constituted by the Inspector General of Police.
Shimul was arrested by the police in Jessore town on May 25. He was
evading arrest in connection with several cases against him in Khulna,
Jessore and other districts.
The probe team, headed by senior police super of Special Branch of
Dhaka Golam Mostafa, includes the Deputy Commissioner (South) of KMP Mazharul
