ABU DHABI, Sep. 5 (IPS) -- Though they always take the cue from
their governments, the Gulf's media has been sharply critical of
U.S. missile attacks on military targets in Iraq, with one daily
urging Arab states to break the U.N. embargo on Baghdad.
Except for Kuwait, there has been no official declaration of
support for the United States from countries in the region,
including Saudi Arabia, Washington's closest ally in the Middle
East.
Instead two Saudi newspapers have condemned the United States,
saying the assaults are acts of aggression. The U.S bombarded
military installations in Iraq on Sept. 3 and yesterday in
retaliation ...
