this is Weekend Edition. I'm Lynn Neary. This week, former hostage
Terry Anderson spoke at the National Press Club here in Washington.
It was eight years ago this week that Anderson, then bureau chief
in Lebanon for the Associated Press, was kidnapped by the Islamic
Jihad group. He spent nearly seven years in captivity, and was the
longest held Western hostage in Lebanon.
TERRY ANDERSON: Somebody had to be last. Somebody drew the short
straw and that was me. I didn't like it very much, but what can you
