Coming up, scientists offer a new way to think about violence - as
a threat to public health in America. And a Somali author who saw
his country's agony before it arrived.

Neary's ruminations on evil, last week. In Colorado Springs, Daniel
Deperman [sp] writes, `I have tentatively defined evil as the inability
to put one's self in another's place. From his failure of the imagination
comes belittling, dehumanization and genocide. It seems that most
human societies contain at least the seeds of this process.'
