ALEX CHADWICK, Host: Six White House aides and three Treasury Department
officials have been subpoenaed to testify before a grand jury about
matters relating to Whitewater - that's the name of the Arkansas real
estate venture owned by President Clinton and his wife, and James
McDougal and his wife. Mr. McDougal also owned an Arkansas Savings
and Loan that failed. A special counsel has been named to investigate
the bank and Mr. McDougal's business dealings with the president.
Starting last fall, Clinton administration officials met with Treasury
Department officials on several occasions to discuss the criminal
investigation of Whitewater. Now the special counsel is ...
