LYNN NEARY, Host: From National Public Radio in Washington, D.C., this is Weekend Edition. I'm Lynn Neary. Twenty years ago this week, Max Bilke [sp] earned his place in the history books when the Army officially designated the last American soldier to depart from Vietnam. Under terms of the Paris Peace Accord, all American troops other than embassy guards and military attaches had to be out of South Vietnam by March 29, 1973. Bilke, who now lives in Laurel, Maryland, was a master sergeant during the war. When it came time to leave, he stamped his own orders and flew out of the country. He says, he never forgets the anniversary of the day he got out of Vietnam. ...
