NOAH ADAMS, Host: Frank Conroy has been writing for nearly 30 years.
Although he's published numerous stories and essays, he has never
published a novel until now. Body and Soul is the story of a boy
named Claude Rawlings [sp] and his piano. Alan Cheuse has this review.
ALAN CHEUSE, Critic: Young Claude sits alone in the basement apartment
that he shares with his taxi driver mother. It's the 1940s. New
York City is in the throes of renovation and transformation, and Claude
noodles at the old night club piano with the mirror above the keyboard
