CONAN: Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Arthur Millers 17th play has just debuted. The Last Yankee is the first Miller work to premier in the United States in more than a decade. His last play, The Ride on Mount Morgan, opened in 1991 in London. Miller distrusted the judgment of the critics so much, he refused to let it open in New York. Following the New York premier, the production of The Last Yankee opened in London as well. Phyllis Joffe of Connecticut Public Radio visited Miller and prepared this report.
