CONAN: Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Arthur Millers 17th play
has just debuted. The Last Yankee is the first Miller work to premier
in the United States in more than a decade. His last play, The Ride
on Mount Morgan, opened in 1991 in London. Miller distrusted the
judgment of the critics so much, he refused to let it open in New
York. Following the New York premier, the production of The Last
Yankee opened in London as well. Phyllis Joffe of Connecticut Public
Radio visited Miller and prepared this report.
