One way to see the Grand Canyon is between the ears of a mule (donkey).
Every year thousands of visitors ride mules down the Bright Angel
or the Kaibab Trail to the Colorado River at the bottom of the canyon,
then up the opposite side. The Grand Canyon in northwestern Arizona
is one of nature's most spectacular creations.
The Colorado River is the ``cutting edge'' that has carved the Grand
Canyon. Scientists believe that several million years ago, this area
was pushed upward by the Earth's movement. Since then, the river and
its tributaries have cut through many layers of rock to form the deep
