The Navajos, or Navaho, are the largest Native American tribe in the United States today, with a population of more than 166,500 people. Most of them live on a large reservation located in parts of Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah.

The Navajos were nomads who traveled from the Canadian North to the American Southwest more than 500 years ago. At first, the Navajos were raiders and warriors, but they eventually learned farming from the Pueblo Native Americans. The Navajos also became herders, keeping herds of sheep and goats and some cattle and horses.
