Plath's attitude toward poetry, as expressed in three of her poems.
Many of Sylvia Plath's poems contain references to her poetic theories,
to the place she allots poetry in the worldly scheme of things. Such a poem as
"Two Views of a Cadaver Room," for example, by setting up a view of death from
the perspective of a work of art, suggests that poetry, or art in general, may
be a way of forestalling death in life, of controlling its influence. Certain
