Sir Gawain And The Green Knight: Part 1

The final and most famous poem of Cotton Nero A.x is Sir Gawain and the
Green Knight, a work that is commonly said to represent the "culmination of
the romance tradition." The poem consists of 2,530 lines, longer than those of
Pearl, arranged in one-hundred-and-one stanzas, varying in length from twelve
to thirty-eight lines. The stanza unit in this poem has a unique form
consisting of two parts: first, a varying number of four and five stress
