Mirror, Mirror...The Locker Room - Reclaimed.
I hated the locker room, especially in junior high, when we had to change into bloomery uniforms in unflattering colors with our names stitched over the pocket. It smelled of sneaker sweat, bubble gum, high-test toilet cleaner and that girly scent of deodorant tampons, and it echoed with he clang of slapped-shut lockers, like a prison.
We all inspected each other in the locker room, snatching glances but quickly snapping back our focus to neutral, and we compared ourselves, in silent judgment, in an unnamed competition of which there was no winner. We noticed who'd grown real breasts and who was ...
