Armbrister and Reeves are among 6 named for Spirit of Excellence award.
Coconut Grove community activist Esther Mae Armbrister and Miami Times publisher-emeritus Garth C. Reeves are among six men and women in Dade and Broward counties tapped for this year's Charles Whited Sprite of Excellence Award sponsored by The Miami Herald.
The honor comes for their ongoing efforts in making South Florida a better place to live.
Armbrister and Reeves, along with Bill Alexander, Will Holcombe, Mitch Kaplan and Luis Antonio Vivaldi, were chosen for the award from more than 220 nominees.
