"I think it's fabulous, and I'm eager to make the move," says James S. Snyder, newly appointed director of the Israel Museum.

Snyder spoke to the CJN from his office in the Museum of Modern Art in New York, where he served most recently as deputy director and where he now serves as a consultant.

"It's truly astonishing what they have done there (in Israel) in just over 30 years," says Snyder. Set on a 20-acre campus, the Israel Museum's collection includes more than 500,000 objects, ranging in scope from archaeology and Judaica to international modern and contemporary art. ...
