BOB EDWARDS, Host: Visiting royalty got some American hospitality
last night. The guests were the Emperor and Empress of Japan. The
host and hostess were President and Mrs. Clinton. The chef was Walter
Shibe [sp] which meant a dramatic change in menu from previous state
dinners at the White House. It was Shibe's formal debut as White
House chef. He is the first American to hold the position. In keeping
with what the White House says is Mrs. Clinton's commitment to American
cuisine, the menu strongly showcased the tastes of cilantro, lime,
cumin and homegrown products. The first course was southwestern
style quail, the entree was fish, and dessert ...
