BOB EDWARDS, Host: Good morning. I'm Bob Edwards. The police chief of Tblisi didn't like the man chosen to be Georgia's new interior minister, so he gathered his men and stormed the parliament. President Eduard Shevardnadze persuaded the chief to withdraw his men, so then the chief barricaded himself in his office to continue the protest. Today, the Georgian government fired the police chief and they'll try to get word to him at his office where he's still behind the barricades. You're listening to NPR's Morning Edition.
