BOB EDWARDS, Host: This is Morning Edition; I'm Bob Edwards. South
Africans of all races go to the polls this week and it's a foregone
conclusion that the historic elections will lead to the inauguration
of Nelson Mandela as president. But, Mandela's African National Congress
is not expected to win by a landslide in all of South Africa's nine
provinces. Political analysts say at least four provinces are up
for grabs, including KwaZulu Natal, a stronghold of the Inkatha Freedom
Party. The populist Western Cape region, where parliament convenes
half the year, will almost certainly go to the National Party. From
