BOB EDWARDS, Host: Director Mike Leigh [sp] makes films about the
kind of English characters you won't often find on Masterpiece Theater.
Most of Leigh's movies have been low-budget, realistic comedies inspired
by the daily lives of ordinary people. But, his new film, titled,
Naked, about an eloquent and violent drifter, has moved Leigh into
the mainstream. The picture won Leigh the Best Director Prize at
last spring's Cannes Film Festival. The same festival honored David
Thules [sp] as Best Actor. David D'Arcy reports.
