Band leader, singer, and songwriter Cab Calloway died last night at the age of 86. He'd suffered a stroke in June. Mr. Calloway performed for more than 60 years in clubs, on Broadway, and in the movies. In 1931, his band took over for Duke Ellington's at the Cotton Club in Harlem. That same year he recorded what would become his signature song, `Minnie the Moocher.'
