LINDA WERTHEIMER, Host: Israel released another 400 Palestinian prisoners
today, but Arab protests over last week's massacre in Hebron continue.
Israeli troops shot and wounded several more Palestinians today.
Besides touching off a crisis in the occupied territories, the Hebron
massacre has also struck a nerve with Israeli Arabs. Until now these
Arabs, who make up 20 percent of Israel's population, had not joined
the uprising in the territories. But some of the most violent protests
following the massacre occurred among Israeli Arab in towns and cities
such as Jaffa, which is in northern Israel. NPR's Linda Gradstein
