LIANE HANSEN, Host: He's called the king of the salsa piano. For
more than 30 years, composer and band leader Eddie Palmieri has been
electrifying audiences with his unconventional arrangements of Latin
jazz. Countless musicians today are splashing around in waters he
charted back in the 1960's. Now the five-time Grammy award winner
has a new album. Howard Mandel has heard it and has this report.

HOWARD MANDEL: Eddie Palmieri, at age 58, is dapper, trim and, one
is tempted to say, wired - anyway - lit up with excitement about the
music to which he's devoted his life.
