NOAH ADAMS, Host: Across the country, many cities are trying to combat
the problem of gang violence. San Jose, California has come up with
a new way of trying to lessen gang influence. This spring, the city
introduced a program which focuses on the symbols of gang membership
- tattoos which can haunt former gang members long after they leave
their gang. The city calls the program, which removes tattoos for
former gang members, `A Clean Slate.' From San Francisco, Lubna Querishi
reports.
