Senator Tim Hutchinson Introduces Tax Code Termination Act
Senator Tim Hutchinson has introduced the "Tax Code
Termination Act," S.1225, to sunset the current United States tax
code
by the year 2001. The bill guarantees that today's cumbersome and
complicated
tax code would be eliminated after four years and would be replaced
on
January 1, 2002. Starting from scratch, Congress, the President,
and most
importantly - the American people - would be able to design a fairer,
simpler
tax code.
