SEN. SHELBY VOWED TO ABOLISH THE CURRENT TAX CODE AND REPLACE IT WITH SIMPLE, EQUITABLE, FIAT-RATE TAX Sen. Shelby signed pledge today

WASHINGTON, D.C. --- U. S. Sen. Richard C. Shelby (R-Ala), long-time advocate of tax reform and the Senate sponsor of the Armey- Shelby Flat Tax, signed a pledge today stating that he, as an elected official, will use his best efforts to abolish the current IRS code by December 31, 2000, and will work to replace it with a simple, equitable, flat-rate tax-like the Armey-Shelby Flat Tax.
