Cal Ripken of the Baltimore Orioles tonight tied Lou Gehrig's record for consecutive games played. Tomorrow evening Ripken will break the record with 2,131 consecutive games played.

ROBERT SIEGEL, Host: And I'm Robert Siegel. This evening the Baltimore Orioles hosted the California Angels, and after four-and-a-half innings the game entered baseball's record book and so did the name of Cal Ripken. He tied one of the game's great records. He's expected to break it tomorrow.
