The Smithsonian Museum of American History is immortalizing the inventor
of the automated teller machine. Jacki Lyden talks with Donald Wetsell
[sp] about his contribution to banking technology.
JACKI LYDEN, Host: It's hard to believe, but there was life before
the ATM card - the little plastic card that makes cash spout from
a machine as if it were free. If only it were. ATM cards are probably
a mixed blessing. You can get at your money so easily now that you
can even withdraw it from another continent. The very first automatic
