Photographer Maxwell MacKensie compiled a series of pictures of empty
buildings. He notes that things are different years later and history
can be learned from the photos of these abandoned buildings.

LINDA WERTHEIMER, Host: And I'm Linda Wertheimer. Abandonings is
the title of a collection of photographs of empty farm buildings in
Otter Tail County, Minnesota. It's not a huge coffee table book.
In fact, it's small. The brown cloth cover is a map of Otter Tail
County in western Minnesota. And glued to the cover of each book
is a photograph of a little red house standing alone ...
