Scientists have discovered the fossil of a bird-like creature in China
which is nearly as old as the only other ancestor of modern birds
ever discovered, Archaeopteryx. The find revises bird evolution theory.
LINDA WERTHEIMER, Host: Scientists say they've unearthed a 140 million-
year-old bird skeleton from China that's forcing them to rethink the
evolution of birds. This animal is nearly as old as the oldest fossil
of a feathered creature ever found, and it is the first bird fossil
ever discovered which has a beak rather than teeth. The discovery
