Some French Canadians are worried, others elated, by the prospect of
Quebec's secession from Canada. Violence is feared by many, as well
as the loss of passports and a weakened economy.
BOB EDWARDS, Host: This is Morning Edition; I'm Bob Edwards. Residents
of the Canadian province of Quebec vote on Monday whether to secede
from the Canadian federation and form an independent republic. As
the vote approaches, the Separatist Movement, the `yes' side, is gaining
ground and anxiety is increasing among Canada's leaders. Canada's
