he began a journey that led to his joining the Nation of Islam.

Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan spends a great deal of
his time on stage addressing his followers in large halls and convention
centers, speaking to political groups and college gatherings. Farrakhan
is highly visible - a controversial, national political figure. In
fact, he has been in public and in front of audiences since he was
a child growing up in Boston.
