As part of the Youth Radio Project, Megan Williams, a brown belt in
judo, spent the past several months speaking with fellow judo competitors
at practice and tournaments.
BOB EDWARDS, Host: This is Morning Edition; I'm Bob Edwards. The
world's best judo fighters will compete for medals in next months'
Summer Olympics in Atlanta, but you can get a sneak preview of the
future of American judo this weekend at the U.S. Junior Nationals
in Oakland. Hundreds of students between the ages of 12 and 20 will
battle it out on the mats. Among those competing is Megan Williams,
an 18-year-old brown belt from Berkeley High School in Berkeley,
California.
