Basil has been very popular in this country since the 1980s. The herb
has been around for thousands of years, and has numerous uses, according
to two authors who just wrote "Basil - An Herb Lover's Guide".
SUSAN STAMBERG, Host: We drove out to Brookville, Maryland, earlier
this week to listen to some herbs grow.
