Elvis Mitchell review's director Robert Altman's latest feature film,
"Kansas City". Mitchell says Harry Belafonte dominates the picture
with his portrayal as Seldom Seen, Kansas City's biggest gangster.
SCOTT SIMON, Host: Nineteen thirty-four, Kansas City. A town where
the mob set the rules and Count Basie set the beat. Director Robert
Altman tracks his famous light and camera through the city's clubs
and streets in his new film Kansas City, with Harry Belafonte starring
as a gambling kingpin named Seldom Seen, who's heard here giving philosophical
advice to a petty crook named Johnny O'Hara.
