CHARLES GIBSON, Host: Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks has had a lifelong
passion for space, one that he was able to indulge when he starred
in 1995's "Apollo 13," and now he's the driving force behind a $65
million miniseries which dramatizes America's race for the moon.
The first two episodes of "From the Earth to the Moon" airs this Sunday
on HBO. The series details each manned Apollo flight and reveals
some fascinating details that you may not recall, such as Apollo 12'
s brush with disaster just after launch.
