Mr. Chairman, Members of the Committee, I greatly appreciate the opportunity
to speak to you today on the issue of religious persecution and religious
freedom. This is an issue that has troubled me for some time. I greatly
value the right I have to worship as I please. In fact, I consider
it to
be one of the most precious rights I have. Unfortunately, in far too
many
countries around the world religious persecution is common place and
in
still more countries state laws and policies restrict religious freedom.
