GOP Rep. Salmon Blasts President's Planned Visit to Tiananmen Square But urges President to make China trip

Washington, DC -- Arizona Congressman Matt Salmon, a Member of the House International Relations Committee's Asia Subcommittee, released a letter today to President Bill Clinton in which he urges Clinton to visit China as scheduled later this month. Salmon's position puts him somewhat at odds with the more than 150 Members of Congress who have called publicly for the President to cancel his trip.
