Jeffords Releases National Education Report. U.S. Students Make Progress
in Ten Areas, Decline in Eight
WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Sen. James M. Jeffords, R - Vt., today joined
in
the release of the "1998 National Education Goals Report". The National
Goals Panel measures the nation's progress on 26 indicators. Nationally,
ten indicators have gone up, but eight have gone down. Vermont improved
in eight areas, declined in six areas and saw no change in twelve.
