SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. (AFNS) -- Air Mobility Command's Inspector
General's
office recently completed a 17,000-mile trip to Asia to assess the
readiness
of AMC's en route units in Japan and Okinawa.
This inspection is a product of the command's 1997 "Year of the En
Route,"
which focused AMC on the needs of the units and highlighted their
contributions
to the global mission of AMC.
"ERIs (en route inspections) reinforce the command's commitment to
ensuring
en route units get the necessary funding, support, personnel and materials
to accomplish their ever-increasing missions," said Brig. Gen. John
Becker,
