KEVIN NEWMAN, Host: Janet Jackson takes the stage on Washington, DC,
tonight to kick off the American concert tour for her newest album,
called "The Velvet Rope." You may have heard the headlines that
this week, while she was getting ready for the concert, there was
word that her dad, Joe Jackson, suffered a minor stroke. He's OK.
A couple of days ago, before her father became ill, I had a chance
to talk with Janet about her career and her life.
