Statement of Miss Candace Pruett Date Rape Drugs
Mr. Chairman and Members of the Committee, thank you for inviting
me to
appear before you today. My name is Candace Pruett and I am an eighteen
year old high school senior. Three years ago, I was raped after someone
gave me a soft drink laced with Rohypnol, which left me unconscious
for
several hours. I am appearing here today to warn other potential victims
about the dangers of date rape drugs and how they can be misused.
I hope
that by telling my story, I can help prevent other unsuspecting victims
from being assaulted like I was.
