GRAMS LOCKS AWAY SOCIAL SECURITY TRUST FUND DOLLARS

Washington, D.C. - US. Senator Rod Grams today delivered a speech on the Senate floor in support of a provision that would reserve any future Social Security surpluses to be used only for Social Security. Last month, Grams voted to approve the FY2000 budget, which reserves non- Social Security trust fund surpluses for tax cuts and Social Security trust fund surpluses solely for Social Security debts.
