BILL GRIFFETH: In one of the most highly-anticipated initial public
offerings in Wall Street history, Goldman Sachs began trading today
under the ticker symbol GS. It was priced last night, as you know,
at $53 a share on the high end of expectations. And the stock is
trading well above that today, up $19 now at $72 per share, almost
like an Internet stock. Maybe you saw it this morning on "Squawk Box,
" the CEO, Henry Paulson, rang the opening bell at the New York Stock
Exchange, ending Goldman's 130-year history as a private partnership.
