WASHINGTON (AFPN) -- Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center at Tinker
Air
Force Base has won a $10.1 billion competition to manage the largest
single
competitively awarded repair and overhaul effort in Air Force history.
Darleen Druyun, principal deputy assistant secretary of the Air
Force
for acquisition and management, announced the award Feb. 12. The contract
value is based on performance for the next 15 years.
The other competitor for the contract, Pratt and Whitney San
Antonio
Engine Services, proposed to carry out its work at San Antonio ALC
at Kelly
AFB, Texas, where most of today's propulsion business area workload
is
performed.
