$1.1 Billion Dollars in Emergency Loans Nationwide
Senator Calls Amount ``A Down Payment;`` Vows to Work for Long- term
Relief
for Farmers
(Washington, D.C.) -- Senator Paul Wellstone announced a long overdue
$574
million package of short-term emergency assistance for family farmers
as
part of the passage today by the Senate of the emergency spending
bill.
The farm aid includes $153 million for state FSA operations and emergency
loan assistance to leverage $1.1 billion in farm loans nationwide.
