HONG KONG, Nov. 29 (IPS) -- Stung by South Africa's decision to
cut diplomatic ties with it in favor of China, Taiwan said it will
"punish Pretoria" and reconsider its investment plans in the
country.
Taiwan's Foreign Minister, John Chang, in a reaction to the
South African announcement, said today that his country would
re-examine its investments in South Africa. A government spokesman
had stronger words, he vowed to "punish Pretoria."
Taiwan's Chairman of the Cabinet Council for Economic Planning
and Development, Chiang Ping Kun said: "The government will not
continue to encourage investment in South Africa. Without
