MONTROSE, Pa. -- Elementary students from Susquehanna County will
take
part in a three-day
outdoor learning program at Salt Springs Park under a $5,000
environmental education grant.
The EPA awarded the grant to the Friends of Salt Springs Park,
Inc., a
citizens group formed in
1994 to maintain and develop the sprawling 405-acre park that
includes
hiking trails through a vista
of several waterfalls, wooded areas and a deep gorge.
Under the program, about 150 fourth, fifth and sixth graders
from six
school districts in this rural
county will be bused to the park to participate in hands-on outdoor
learning activities produced by
