NANCY SNYDERMAN: This has been a tough summer for allergy sufferers, and a lot of people don't know about allergies, so a pop quiz. Number one. True or false?

Allergies usually start during childhood.

ANTONIO MORA: Mine got bad in my 20's. So I would say maybe not.

NANCY SNYDERMAN: That's right. False. We assume that they start in your 20's, but there's a lot of adult who get them. If either parent has allergies, a child's risk is increased.
