MARINE CORPS AIR STATION NEW RIVER, N.C. (Aug. 6) -- The Marines have landed and the civilians have evacuated the invaded city; all the women and children are safe and out of harms way. This is the scenario that a small group of civil affairs Marines try to make possible.

It is a civil affairs Marine's responsibility to keep civilian populations out of harm's way in combat or threatening situations and provide humanitarian relief.
